Macro Photography reminds me to breathe deeply. It helps me to slow down, and it keeps me in the present. When I’m creating a new macro image, I forget my worries and anxieties. Without a doubt, macro photography is creative therapy for me.
I find flowers and other natural objects the most inspiring for this type of photography. Indeed, I can spend hours with a single flower stem.
Currently, I’m working on a series of macro images entitled ‘Faded’. It includes photographs of decaying, pressed, and dried flowers and herbs. Each image includes a single subject, whose beauty I find has only grown with age.
For example, I found the withering petals of the sunflower on the right more intriguing than the supple petals of those newer in age.
